Why I created TAS
I created TAS to connect knowledge with these everyday questions. The platform draws on more than 22 years of progressive experience in education, assessment and capacity building, alongside my research, business administration and human resources background. It is the space through which I now work independently, bringing together documented work, research, tools and services for individuals, institutions, companies and NGOs.
The expanding services reflect how needs overlap in practice. A request for training may reveal a need to clarify roles or review working procedures. A question about survey findings may lead to a discussion about priorities. Collaboration therefore begins by clarifying the actual need, the available information and the output that would help.
Knowledge • Thinking • Impact in practice
Knowledge helps us understand context, gather evidence and recognise its limits. Thinking helps us compare options, question assumptions and consider resources and constraints. Impact starts with practical questions: what do we want to improve, who will act, and what evidence will we review and when?
An output might be a staff development plan, an interpretation report, an assessment tool or an implementation roadmap. Its value depends on how it is used and how well it addresses the need. Follow-up on application can therefore be included in the agreed scope.
What can we work on together?
In education, assessment and capacity building, work may begin with an instrument review or needs analysis, followed by a learning programme, materials, activities and follow-up tools. Research and professional writing support can focus on study design, instruments, interpretation or a clear report that preserves the meaning of the evidence.
In human resources and team development, collaboration can cover roles and responsibilities, staff onboarding, training needs, development plans and performance follow-up. For an individual, the starting point might be a learning plan suited to their goal and available time, or a discussion of a specific professional decision.
Statistical analysis starts with the research question, data quality and collection method. These inform the analysis and the explanation of findings and limitations. For example, a team with survey responses might need help organising de-identified data, analysing findings and connecting them to improvement priorities. This illustrates a possible scope of work; tests and inferences depend on the study design, sample and analytical assumptions.
For institutional decision-making and strategic planning, SWOT can help examine strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. TOWS connects these factors to develop strategic options. Comparing those options and setting priorities, objectives, responsibilities, indicators and review dates makes the analysis useful. The organisation retains authority to approve its decisions and plans, with the depth of work and team participation agreed beforehand.
For a proposed project or service, a preliminary feasibility study can organise assumptions about demand, operations, costs and revenues, compare scenarios and identify information that still needs verification. It supports a decision that acknowledges those limits. This preliminary service does not include a financial audit, funding certification or guaranteed returns.
An open space for learning
The insights section and open library offer ideas and templates you can begin using yourself, from a training-needs matrix to tools for turning findings into decisions and reviewing decisions under pressure. Case studies, research and credentials provide context for the work and the scope of experience behind it.
Critical digital awareness remains part of this purpose. TareqPodcast and the digital-platform research explore attention, credibility and self-presentation, encouraging people to examine what they read, share and use in decisions, including AI-generated content.
